said it has received approval from Chinese regulators to resume user registrations for its ride-hailing service, in another sign that Beijing is easing its crackdown on the technology sector.  

The move puts an end to one of the most high-profile penalties inflicted on a Chinese technology company by the country’s government. In July 2021, shortly after Didi’s initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange, Chinese regulators launched an investigation into the company which forced mobile app stores in the country to remove Didi’s services.
